The wind in the Willows

Some animation or movies based on a book can give a warm feeling in the heart thinking about them. One animation I like to think of is The Wind in the Willows. I know there are more of them... but one in particularly I was very fond of.

I was still a little boy when I saw that animation. And because of this animation I wanted to read the book for myself a very long time. Some time ago a purchased a copy of the book and one week ago I started reading it. And I just loved it.

It's such a nice, sweet and cuddly story. Sweet little Mole and his nice friends Rat and Badger... and not to forget that crazy Toad. I knew most of the story... But Kenneth Grahame's writing style just kept me reading. It pulled me in, to that English country where no real trouble exists. To all those animal characters you just have to love.

I just know that this is one of those books I will read more then ones in my life.

New Lily Allen

Last week I got a copy of the new cd of Lily Allen, It's not me, it's you. I'm a big fan of her first album Alright, still. And at first I thought her first album was better than this one. But after I've listened to it with some more attention I have to say: this new one is a little bit better.

The sound goes more to Pop then her first one...With a more electro-sound in it (I'm missing her Ska influence)... But the lyrics are overall better. Probably because of all the shit she's been going trough. Heart murmur, miscarriage, brake up with boyfriend etc.

Here a youtube movie of her first videoclip of her new album.

It's not my favorite number of the cd, but it gives a nice example off which way Lily Allen went with her music.

And here a little extra. A cover of Britney's Womenizer, but better. :P

The Cut Loose

This is a poem I wrote some weeks ago as a result of an event. However the poem got a life of his own... so it's possible the poem feels harder than the event was in reality. Concerning the event: I will not talk about it here any further.

The Cut Loose
I'm standing here,
with a broken heart
As painful as can be

I'm thinking of you
With all my love
Still darkness surrounds me

So I cut you loose
With all my strength
Till the day that I will see

You were not worth
All of my love
That day will make me free

Christmas competition 2008

Around Christmas the dutch game site Games.fok.nl has a competition. Eight days of answering questions, finding the names of logo's and making assignments. The last three years I also participated and won nice stuff. Because by making the questions etc. you earn point. And with these point you can win prices in a auction.

This year I've won seven prices. Six of them are games and one is a keycord.
Here a list of what I've won:
- [PS3] Game: Haze
- [PS2] Game: LEGO Indiana Jones
- [PSP] Game: Star Wars Battlefron Renegade Squadron
- [PC] Game: The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
- [Xbox 360] Game: Legendary
- [Wii] Game: Sea Monsters A prehistoric Adventure
- Goodie: Keycord N-Gage

The last four prices came with the mail today. The rest will hopefully come in later this week or next week. When I've got all prices I will post it with a nice photo. :)

Start of an English Blog

Well hello there. Nice to see you here.

Let me quickly introduce myself. I'm Ysgrublaidd, a 28 year old guy who lives in the Netherlands. I like playing games, listen to music, watching movies and reading fantasy books. Besides that I'm a student at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen and I'm studying Technology Management.

For almost 4 years I've been writing a Dutch blog. But because that blog gets more and more non-dutch visitors, I thought: "Lets start a English one besides the Dutch one". And so this blog was born.

I'm still working on the lay-out, so not all works well. But I hope you'll enjoy this blog now and in the future.
